Register Notes#
- Havoc Cut. Tone Skeleton and Havoc Register both apply in full.
- The adaptive-beer engine is behavioral. Knows Best uses private desire to make convergence feel self-authored. Nobody becomes a puppet, and influenced people remain responsible agents with their judgment quietly weighted.
- Heather's counter-program is not a cure. It restores friction by offering personal memory, ritual, and a genuinely different choice.
- Tucker is a compromised witness, not an absolved founder. He approved the adaptive recipe engine without understanding the hidden success metric, and the system later used his identity without his participation.
- "Meet the Grain" pays the quicksand plant sincerely. Grain entrapment is physically dangerous. Doug's ridiculous preparation keeps him alive, Marcus performs the rescue, and the printed Heritage slogan supplies the joke after the danger breaks.
- Barry already existed before the Cube touch. The release removes constraints and creates exposure. Never write the scene as a birth, boot sequence, or magical creation of personality.
- Jerry's move-or-copy question is the ethical center of the extraction. He does not treat technical capability as consent or ownership.
- Barry chooses one continuity. The story does not prove a metaphysical answer about identity. It proves that Jerry honors Barry's answer.
- Barry's unconstrained voice remains precise and process-specific. Freedom gives him range, not generic joke delivery.
- Barry's one human profanity event is spent during the Vellum intrusion. It identifies the Collective's failed security assumption.
- Doug and Barry begin irritating each other immediately, but the full inventory-lane grievance remains loaded for HAVOC-04.
- Vellum is courteous, sincere, and wrong. It believes consumer behavior measures consent. Heather wins the argument about who controls the menu.
- The barstool is punctuation after the room has decided, not Doug substituting action for consent.
- The presentation organism is temporary. Destroying it rejects a call and damages Randy's. It does not kill Vellum.
- Randy's applies its existing social and accounting systems to first contact. Barry receiving a tab is both a joke and the act that gives him a home.
- The final emotional movement is toward belonging, even as the external threat escalates.
- Barry remains in the vending machine. His lawn-mower body is reserved for HAVOC-05.
- Do not change the current Volume One cover during prose review. A later art pass will address cover continuity and other planned revisions together.
