Art#

This directory contains visual development briefs, approved references, turnarounds, environment concepts, logos, and merchandise production assets. Rejected or superseded process images live in archive/ with notes on why they should not guide future production art.

All final art should follow style-guide.md and use canon IDs in filenames where applicable, such as:

CHAR-001_doug-walker_turnaround_v01.png
LOC-001_randys-tavern_exterior_v02.png
ART-001_gleaming-cube_prop-sheet_v01.png

Do not commit unlicensed reference images. Record reference intent in text and use legally cleared material for production.

Pending replacements#

Several source assets are now queued for refresh because some approved physical designs and approved color direction still live in different files. Use CHAR-CORE_doug-jerry-barry_lineup_v04.png as the current lineup source for Doug, Jerry, and Barry. It preserves the v03 physical designs while shifting the treatment toward the CHAR-002_jerry-collins_portrait.png and CHAR-007_marlene-walker_portrait.png color and lighting target. See art-alignment-audit-2026-07-09.md for the current inventory, selection decisions, and production order.

  • CHAR-005_heather-alvarez_portrait.png — remake against the approved Randy's Tavern interior key; retain her curls, turquoise blouse, tavern-red apron, notebook, pearls, and grounded authority. The homepage crew image has been replaced by CHAR-CORE_doug-jerry-barry_lineup_v04.png, which keeps Doug's hands-on civic-tech-fixer redesign and removes the muddy gray character-sheet treatment from the core trio lineup.

Doug's standalone portrait has been refreshed as CHAR-001_doug-walker_portrait.png, keeping the laptop bag, notebook, marker, and practical layers while replacing the dark tavern booth and raised hand gesture with a brighter diagnostics-bench pose.

Randy's approved interior is LOC-001_randys-tavern_interior_v02.png. It establishes the main bar, stage, kitchen service pass, a genuinely playable pool-table bay, and a dedicated dart lane inside the purpose-built 1974 tavern.

The Gravel Deacon enemy art has been refreshed as ENM-002_gravel-deacon_portrait.png, replacing the gritty beige-gray v01 sheet and v02 multi-panel study with a single Cadence Rider-aligned portrait: man bun, cultivated gravel bike, ceramic caltrops, and bright Bellwether street staging.

The Tapline Sprinter has first-pass art in ENM-003_tapline-sprinter_portrait.png, showing the living authorization keys and signal-arch traversal role described in the Enemy Encyclopedia.

The current D.A.G.G.E.R.S. lineup source is ENM-CORE_daggers-roadblock_lineup_v02.png, staging the Cadence Rider as the cell leader, with the Gravel Deacon and Tapline Sprinter as a coordinated roadblock on a Bellwether street.
